Lehigh Valley Family Photographer | Chris + Steph Wedding

As a Lehigh Valley Family Photographer, I'm frequently asked why I don't (often) shoot weddings or offer wedding photography services. Here's the honest answer: I advertise myself as a talented natural light photographer, meaning I do not use flash or any sort of light-assisting devices while shooting. Because of this, I am somewhat limited in the locations where I can hold photo sessions. The weather, lighting, time of day, and environment have to be just right for me to create beautiful images during your session, and since most weddings are held indoors in ambient, romantic lighting, it would be difficult for me to showcase my best work in those types of parameters. However, I do make exceptions if the wedding is small and held in an outdoor setting, and I'd be lying if I said my heart didn't sing when couples approach me about their upcoming intimate ceremony.

Chris and Steph contacted me in early May letting me know of their wedding date and their desire for me to capture their special day. I was over the moon about this opportunity because Chris and I attended high school together, and it's always a bittersweet yet heartfelt feeling to see an old friend hit so many milestones in life AND still remember you and your talents after all these years! Of course I gladly accepted without hesitation.

We met for the ceremony in the town of Jim Thorpe, which is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania at the foothills of the Pocono Mountains. Both Chris and Steph were fixated on each other the entire day, completely encased in their love for one another - it was almost too adorable! They were pronounced husband and wife under the gazebo in the town park near the old train station. The details of the day totally came together despite the small bouts of rain we encountered! Everything about Chris and Steph's wedding fell into place perfectly, and I was honored to be a part of their day.

These two lovebirds recently hit another milestone - the purchase of their first home! Soon they will be celebrating four months of wedded bliss. Congrats Chris and Steph on your gorgeous Jim Thorpe intimate wedding!
