Lehigh Valley Family Photographer | Henshue Family

As a family photographer in the Lehigh Valley, I usually have all the words to express my feelings about a family photo session. I can accurately describe and relate to the mood and feel before, during, and after a session, and those feelings are usually evident in the images that I review in-camera afterward. The Henshue family left me downright SPEECHLESS, and you'll see why in a second.

Kim and I go way back, and I was completely thrilled that she chose me to take her family's photos this year. She and Matt have the most adorable little family, and I couldn't wait to meet their two boys (whom I've seen so much on social media - SO CUTE) in person! (cue the baby fever ;-] )

When I got home, I was nearly brought to tears with how many natural, loving interactions I documented from this family session. There's sort of an "out-of-body" experience I'm having during the time where I'm scrolling through images in back-of-camera. Lots of "Holy cats, did I really capture THAT!?" moments - in a good way, of course! I felt incredibly proud, utterly surprised of my own talent, and totally moved that there was so much love expressed between this group that day, and I was lucky enough to capture these precious memories for a long-time friend and her husband.

Family photography isn't always about posing the group and the 'everyone face the camera and smile' mentality. Out of all of the moments I capture, I hope to be able to show you more of the photos where you and your family are just being yourselves, rather than those images showing who you are trying to be. Life is crazy, messy, and unpredictable. But in that same breath it is absolutely beautiful, full of love, and perfectly imperfect, and that is exactly how I feel about the families and their lives that I'm so grateful to be a part of through photography.
